The park cafe smelled like holidays.
Like that big shack covered with curbed metal and housing a selection of greasy eateries. Microwaved pizza, fries, dumplings, and split pea soup which somehow also made it to the list of holiday foods. Smell of sweaty kids playing arcade games, and parents removing sea sand from their shoes.

A bonus nuance was added by the three red-faced guys drinking beer in the middle of a Tuesday afternoon, and the serving lady, scrolling her phone smoking a cigarette with a tray under her armpit.
They will never know what joyful memory trip their smells have contributed to.
